Jaipur History

In the year of 1727 the pink city was founded by Maharaja Jai Singh II, who was a Kachhwaha Rajput. From the years 1699-1744 he ruled the city. He wanted the city to be in a place that had water and room for growth. This was the first of many designs of cities in Jaipur. Before the plan of Jaipur he did a lot of studies to make sure that everything was just right. There was a lot of battles for the city with the Marathas. It was because of this that he wanted the city to flourish. He asked for help from Vidyadhar Bhattacharya who was a scholar from Brahmin.

In the year of 1727 the construction started and it took them 4 years before they where able to complete all of the roads and palaces. It was divided shortly after into a majestic nine blocks and two of them where palaces plus state buildings. All of the others where of public use. There was a huge fortification wall built for security.

When the town was being built the archtecture was the best around and everyone welcomed the Prince of Wales in the year 1853. What mattered a lot in this city and why it became so popular was the pink color that it was painted in. Jaipur remains enriched with cultural and majestic beauty. You can feel the charisma of the city thanks to the people that live there.
